Three Dollar Gold Pieces
1854 $3 MS62 PCGS. Some consider the 1854 three dollar to be a single year type coin due to the smaller size of the letters in DOLLARS. Beginning in 1855, a different font and larger type size were put in place. This piece is a frosty and lustrous example with light yellow-gold brilliance with hints of deeper orange on the highpoints. The strike shows slight incompleteness at the upper and lower hair curls.
