Three Dollar Gold Pieces
1878 $3 MS61 NGC. Although not the highest mintage of the series (that honor goes to the 1854), the 1878 three dollar gold is the most readily available issue and a prime target for type. This lustrous and attractive Mint State example is sharply struck with orange-gold patina and frosty surfaces. Scattered tiny marks account for the assigned grade.
