Three Dollar Gold Pieces
1878 $3 MS64 PCGS. An extremely attractive, shimmering type coin with frosty luster that is exceptionally attractive in the fields. A few tiny ticks on the relief elements limit the grade. The bowknot is better-defined than usual, and the obverse is sharply struck. The 1878 is one of only a few issues in the three dollar gold series that can be termed available in such high of a grade, making it a favorite for type collectors.
