Early Half Eagles
1798 $5 Large Eagle, Small 8, BD-8, R.5, VF25 PCGS. Moderate wear on the devices, as expected for the grade, but the surfaces are pleasing to the unaided eye, and there we do not see any adjustment marks on either side. The central obverse does show some action, and there is an old scratch before Liberty's nose. A scarce die pairing which shows a minor die crack from the cloud to the rim left of OF, and the star cross pattern is used on the reverse. Housed in a green label holder.
