1806 $5 Knob 6, 7x6 Stars, BD-6, R.2 -- Filed Rims -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details. Bass-Dannreuther Die State d/e. The 1806 BD-6 half eagle with the Knob 6, 7 x 6 Stars obverse is handily the most plentiful Draped Bust half eagle, and therefore the best choice for date and type collectors. The large production also yielded a number of die states that are enumerated in the Bass-Dannreuther reference. This example shows a die crack from the border to the bottom curl, and a rust lump on the upright of the R in LIBERTY, with light reverse clashmarks. A pleasing light yellow-gold example with satiny luster that overshadows the myriad surface marks. Excellent eye appeal.
