1842-C $5 Large Date XF45 PCGS. Variety 1. Predominately toned lemon-gold, although the device high points display gunmetal-blue. Luster illuminates design recesses, and no marks are of singular consequence. The central strike shows blending, but peripheral elements are sharp. Though less rare than its Small Date counterpart, the Large Date is also desirable, particularly with problem-free surfaces.
