1852-C $5 AU55 PCGS. Variety 1. From a fairly substantial mintage of 72,574 pieces, the surviving population of the 1852-C half eagle has been augmented by a couple of small hoards that surfaced in modern times. This attractive Choice AU representative shows just a touch of wear, with well-detailed design elements and surprisingly lustrous, lightly abraded surfaces. Population: 16 in 55, 37 finer (11/16).
