1890 $5 MS61 PCGS. The 1890 claims a small mintage of 4,240 coins. No supplemental half eagles were manufactured at the San Francisco or Carson City mints that year. This MS61 ranks among the few Mint State survivors. Peach and green-gold surfaces radiate softly frosted luster. Abrasions are scattered over each side. Population: 7 in 61, 12 finer (11/16).
