1895 $5 MS65 NGC. While just over 1.3 million half eagles were produced in Philadelphia, a mintage among the highest in the series, Gems such as this are scarce and anything finer is rare. The surfaces are frosty and well-struck, with a few scattered ticks. NGC has certified only 12 coins in higher numeric grades (11/16).
