1856 $10 AU58 PCGS. Ten dollar gold production was cut in half between 1855 and 1856, with output falling to 60,490 pieces. The average grade awarded at the leading services is just shy of AU53, yet survivors are rarely seen finer than this. Each side is rose-gold with partial luster and myriad abrasions. Central design detail is good. Population: 29 in 58 (1 in 58+), 19 finer (11/16).
