Liberty Eagles
1861 $10 AU58 PCGS. The 1861 eagle has long been the go-to issue for type collectors looking for a pleasing No Motto ten dollar gold coin, as the Mint struck 113,100 pieces that year. Near-Mint coins are still very scarce. This borderline-Uncirculated eagle has bright and partly lustrous yellow-gold surfaces with myriad abrasions lightly peppered over each side. As a whole, the impression is bold, although the stars lack centers and the olive leaves fail to show complete veins.
