Indian Eagles
1910-S $10 MS64 NGC. Despite a mintage of 811,000 pieces, the 1910-S ten dollar is elusive in near-Gem and exceedingly rare any finer. NGC and PCGS report 54 submissions in MS64 and a mere 10 finer. Grade-defining bagmarks characterize most 1910-S eagles, limiting the number of certified Gem examples. Strong luster emanates from the copper-gold surfaces of the present near-Gem that exhibit sharply defined design elements. A mark on the lower part of the fourth feather, one under the I of IN, and another above the eagle's tail limit the grade. This is a highly attractive coin that may well warrant a Plus designation. Census: 19 in 64, 6 finer (11/16).
