Indian Eagles
1916-S $10 MS63 NGC. Scarce in Select or finer Mint State, the 1916-S is the final affordable eagle from the San Francisco Mint given the rarity of both the 1920-S and 1930-S issues. This example displays a natural, olive-gold coloration over softly lustrous, finely granular surfaces typical of the issue. Remarkably few abrasions visit the attractive fields and minimally marked motifs. Just 138,500 pieces were struck. Census: 35 in 63, 31 finer (10/16).
