Indian Eagles
1920-S $10 -- Removed From Jewelry -- NGC Details. AU. The 1920-S was likely struck to back gold certificates. The vast majority of the mintage never left Treasury vaults, and was eventually melted following the 1933 gold recall. NGC has certified a total of just 60 pieces over the past 30 years, including an unknown number of resubmissions. The present hairlined example has bright sun-gold surfaces and displays moderate wear on the eagle's front leg. Both sides exhibit slight tab-shaped depressions at 1:30, 4:30, 7:30, and 10:30.
