1872 $20 MS61 PCGS. This Type Two Philadelphia double eagle issue is very scarcely offered in mint condition. This is essentially the highest grade for which the 1872 can be considered obtainable, as higher-graded representatives are very rare. Copper-orange hues accent glittering peach-gold surfaces awash in luminous luster. The relief elements are crisply impressed with minor softness on the hair curls. Marks appear over each side. Housed in a green label holder. Population: 47 in 61, 10 finer (11/16).
