1874-S $20 MS61 PCGS. Broad S. The 1874-S has one of the highest mintages among Type Two double eagles (1.2 million coins) and correspondingly ranks among the more accessible issues in mint condition. However, anything graded higher than this MS61 double eagle will present a serious challenge to any dedicated specialist. The surfaces are relatively smooth for the grade. Both sides feature frosty luster that blends with light yellow-gold color. Well-struck with a particularly attractive reverse.
