Liberty Double Eagles
1875 $20 MS63 NGC. The Liberty double eagle was the only gold denomination struck in normal quantities at the Philadelphia Mint in 1875, with a nominal mintage of 295,740 pieces. Like most Type Two twenties, the 1875 is seldom found in high grade. This impressive Select example displays well-detailed design elements and lightly marked, dusky orange-gold surfaces with slightly subdued mint luster. Census: 29 in 63, 4 finer (11/16).
