1882-CC $20 AU55 PCGS. Variety 1-A. From a mintage of 39,140 pieces, Doug Winter has identified two varieties of the 1882-CC Liberty double eagle. This coin represents the rarer Variety 1-A, with a closely spaced CC mintmark and the first C higher than the second. Only a touch of wear is evident on the sharply detailed design elements and the lustrous orange-gold surfaces are lightly abraded.
