Liberty Double Eagles
1887-S $20 MS62 NGC. A wonderful example and conditionally rare, with only 25 finer NGC-certified examples of the date. Only proofs were coined in Philadelphia during the year 1887, and no other mint produced any double eagles, so the 1887-S is the only circulation strike of that denomination. Peripheral turquoise patina enhances full, satiny luster and light yellow surfaces. Abrasions are minimal for the grade.
