Liberty Double Eagles
1904 $20 MS65+ PCGS. Although the 1904 double eagles are plentiful in all Mint State grades, those with clear and essentially unmarked surfaces are strictly in the minority -- even in high Uncirculated conditions. This attractive, medium-gold Gem received the PCGS Plus designation. Strong cartwheel luster reveals green and peach-gold highlights. A rim dig between stars 12 and 13 is noted, but it is small and shallow. The strike is consistently sharp on both sides.
