Liberty Double Eagles
1906-D $20 MS64+ PCGS. The 1906-D Liberty double eagle is unsuspectingly rare in Gem condition despite a mintage of more than 620,000 pieces. Choice examples are themselves elusive, particularly when sought with a Plus designation. This example offers sharp detail and frosty wheat-gold luster. A few minor abrasions prevent a finer designation but hardly impede the eye appeal. PCGS reports 13 finer representatives (10/16).
