Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles
1913-D $20 MS64 PCGS. Roger Burdette suggests 250,000 1913-D double eagles from a mintage of 393,500 coins were shipped to Europe, explaining the prevalence of examples in MS62 to MS64 and the rarity of higher-graded representatives. Satiny mint luster and straw-gold color characterize this lightly marked near-Gem. A small planchet void is noted under the eagle's head.
