Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles
1924-D $20 MS62 PCGS. The 1924-D Saint-Gaudens double eagle was once considered an extremely rare issue, but a number of coins were repatriated from European holdings in the 1950s, making it just a median rarity in the series today. This impressive MS62 example displays sharply detailed design elements in most areas, with just a touch of softness on the upper torch and Capitol. The lustrous orange-gold surfaces are lightly marked, apart from a scratch on Liberty's torso and another on the rock near her foot.
