1850 $5 Baldwin Five Dollar, K-2, R.5 -- Scratched, Cleaned -- ANACS. XF40 Details. The usual early die state without a heavy rim cud above the hair bun on the obverse. The Baldwin & Co. five dollar gold piece is scarce in any condition. This example displays soft detail with heavily abraded, bright yellow-gold surfaces. A thin scratch on the reverse from the rim through the I in FIVE to the fletchings is noted on the holder. This is an affordable example of an elusive territorial gold issue.
