Books
A California Gold Rush History by Q. David Bowers. The famous limited edition (400 copies) numismatic reference issued in 2002 to accompany sales of gold coins and ingots recovered from the S.S. Central America. The book describes the journey of the gold in 1857, from the San Francisco area, across the isthmus of Panama, to its fate at the depths of the Atlantic Ocean. The 1,055 page book includes color plates that depict all ingots recovered at that time. This example is still sealed in shrinkwrap.
