ATTICA. Athens. Ca. 454-404 BC. AR tetradrachm (25mm, 17.22 gm, 6h). NGC MS 5/5 - 5/5. Mid-mass coinage issue, 440-404 BC. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet ornamented with three laurel leaves and vine scroll / ΑΘΕ, owl standing right, head facing, olive sprig and crescent moon behind, all within incuse square. HGC 4, 1597. SNG Copenhagen 32. Detailed strike from fresh dies, the reverse still showing die polishing lines in fields. Pleasing style, light reverse toning.
