Diademed head of Mithradates right, with windswept hair / BAΣIΛEΩΣ MIΘPAΔATOY EYΠATOPOΣ, Stag grazing left; star-in-crescent to left above monogram; to right, BKΣ (date) above monogram; all within Dionysiac wreath of ivy and fruit. HGC 7, 340. DCA 692. SNG von Aulock 8 (different monograms). SNG BM Black Sea 1034–5. Rare regnal year. With a handsome portrait of his dynamic ruler and pleasing old cabinet toning.
