Olmutz. Rudolph Johann Taler 1820 MS64 NGC, KM494. A singular issue that features the half-length portrait of Archduke Rudolph Johann upon a broad, steel-colored planchet with exciting russet hues that radiate from below the patina. The reverse is equally sharp but retains a more argent appearance, with a striated pattern of earth-tones that transverse the crowned, draped arms. Decidedly choice in hand, with near-pristine fields that contain nothing more than the occasional wisp, and boldly executed design motifs that are struck-up to the highest points. Conditionally scarce and engaging from all angles.
