Prince Edward Island. Commerce & Trade 1/2 Penny Token 1840 F15 PCGS, Breton-916 (R4), Charlton PE-4. Coin rotation variety. A rare type always found in poor condition, this early issue was the first halfpenny to be struck in Prince Edward Island. Due to its crude production on inferior planchets, the striking of this type was soon abandoned, leaving an example such as the present piece as an exceptional and important survivor.
