Republic copper Pattern Peso 1898 PR58 Brown NGC, KM-PnB10. Reeded edge. This design was crafted by Philip Martiny who was a pupil of the renowned Augustus Saint Gaudens. This pattern struck by Gorham & Company does not have a single rim nick nor bruise that can be seen by the naked eye, which adds to the allure. The surfaces hold a fair amount of luster displaying colors of faint cobalt blue, leaf brown and mauve patina with traces of gloss. Overall the eye-appeal is pleasant with barely any cabinet friction on the highpoints commensurate with the assigned grade.
