Louis XV gold 1/2 Louis d'or 1723-A UNC Details (Saltwater Damage) NGC, Paris mint, KM470, Fr-459, Gad-338. Toned orange-gold throughout with essentially full detail remaining and granular surfaces suggesting past recovery from a shipwreck. Quite possibly from the Le Chameau, a French sailing ship that wrecked off the coast of Nova Scotia in 1725.
