Republic Louis XVI gold Louis d'or de 24 Livres L'An 5 1793-A XF Details (Tooled) NGC, Paris mint, KM617.1, Fr-477, Gad-61. Notable as the last gold coin to feature the bust of Louis XVI, which was replaced by the 24 Livres under the Decree of 5 February, 1793. The surfaces are lightly patinated, with darker, coppery color touching the peripheries, and while light tooling exists within the fields, the overall importance of this issue is not lost. Very rarely-offered and still extremely collectible in a details designation.
