Napoleon III gold 100 Francs 1864-A MS62 NGC, Paris mint, KM802.1. Mintage: 5,536. Fully appealing, with delicately antiqued golden patination, brightened by an estimable amount of underlying bloom that still traverses the fields. The portrait of Napoleon III appears almost three-dimensional in comparison to the low-lying expanses, and a scattering of mild handling ticks do little to detract from the overall allure of this massive gold issue.
