Saxony. Friedrich August III gold Ducat 1780-IEC MS64 NGC, Dresden mint, KM1005, Fr-2872. Johann Ernst Croll as mintmaster. A superb example of this type, fully brilliant with essentially prooflike fields and few distracting marks to be found on the surfaces. Faint reddish tone adds an air of originality and accentuates the lightly frosted devices.
