Edward III (1327-1377) gold 1/4 Noble ND (1361) MS64+ PCGS, London mint, Transitional treaty period of 1361, Cross Potent mm, S-1501, N-1224. Arms within tressure; trefoils on cusps / Cross fleurée with lions and quatrefoils in quarters, small cross potent with annulets in quarters and a pellet at the center; all within a tressure of arches with pellets in spandrels. A highly lustrous example of this brief issue, superbly struck in the center with minimal weakness in the legends. The surfaces are remarkable; essentially pristine.
