William & Mary gold 1/2 Guinea 1689 XF40 NGC, KM473, S-3429. Moderate even wear accounts for the grade, but is made up for by the fact of the deep red toning. A very attractive piece with great eye appeal. We do note, for the sake of thoroughness, that there is a strike-through at 6:00 on the obverse, where one can see part of the "89" from the date on the reverse.
