Great Britain
George IV silver Proof Pattern 1/2 Crown 1820 PR64 NGC, Royal mint, S-3807 and KM676 type but ESC-649A variant. Reeded edge. A most pleasing piece having "perfect" medium golden-gray toning, a truly crisp strike and exceptionally fine fully original surfaces. A tiny alloying flaw appears on the reverse rim at 6 o'clock. This coin is a very subtle variant of the accepted design having 9 instead of 10 strings to the harp, "plain" or unfinished texture to the obverse lettering, and other minute differences. Essentially a trial piece made from unfinished dies. Extremely rare.
