William IV Proof Shilling 1834 PR62 PCGS, Royal mint, KM713, S-3835. Milled edge. Not often encountered in the market, we have offered a grand total of one example of the 1834 proof shilling in the past decade (or more). That coin was sold as part of the Law Collection in January, 2015; graded PR64 by NGC, it hammered for $3,2000. The coin offered now is not its equal on a technical level, though its eye appeal more than makes up for its relatively modest grade. Gunmetal gray toning, with subtle blue toning gives this coin an understated brilliance that a true numismatic connoisseur is sure to be able to appreciate.
Estimate: 2000-2500 USD
