William IV Proof 1/2 Crown 1831 PR64 Cameo NGC, Royal mint, KM714.1, S3834A. Plain edge; block "WW" signature (of William Wyon). Visually choice for a proof of this period, with starkly frosted central design motifs that produce an excellent cameo appearance and flares of amber-gold tone that touch portions of the edges on the obverse and reverse. A few instances of handling, most notably a thin mark from the second A in BRITANNIAR that runs into the field, prevent an even finer grade.
