Victoria gold Sovereign 1844 MS63 NGC, Royal mint, KM736.1, S-3852. Large "44" variety. A highly original example of this early date Victoria sovereign with attractive tone on both sides and the absence of large marks that gives this pieces its high-end appearance. One alloy steak, running from the rosette at 5 o'clock on the reverse edge to the lower-right quadrant of the shield, is noted purely for academic sake.
