Great Britain
George VI Matte Proof "English Crest" Shilling 1951 PR64 NGC, Royal mint, KM876, S-4108, ESC-4201 (R6). Granular textured and graphite colored, with sharp design elements and surfaces that appear free of handling. A fascinating issue that was reportedly produced for the purpose of easing flash photography, thus making the imagery usable for the marketing of the Festival of Britain, a government sponsored exhibition which promoted British contribution to science, technology, industrial design, architecture and the arts. Very rare with only 3 or 4 known according to English Silver Coinage.
Estimate: 2000-3000 USD
