Victoria-Era gold Proof Trinity College Medal 1591 (1856) PR62 Deep Cameo PCGS, 39mm. Featuring the diademed bust of Elizabeth I wearing an elaborate ruff, with a coat-of-arms on a shamrock-patterned background, flanked by a rose and portcullis. This math and science prize medal was awarded by Trinity College Dublin to Johannes Geoghegan in 1856. Truly marvelous in both its preservation and elemental decoration, and for the collector of 19th century gold medals, a true delight.
