Lucca. Republic (1369-1799) gold Ducato ND (1544) MS63 PCGS, Lucca mint, Fr-487, MIR-169/3. Highly lustrous and meticulously struck, this piece is an amazing survivor of this issue. The obverse coat of arms allows us to significantly narrow the date in which it was struck, disagreeing with the PCGS date range. The only flaw of note is a small die-cud over one of the eyes of the Volto Santo.
