Meiji Yen Year 36 (1903) MS66+ NGC, KM-YA25.3. Currently the only certified example of this date at NGC awarded with a plus, separating itself from 14 other specimens with an MS66 designation, and eclipsed by only one at the MS67 level. This blast-white offering is easily deserving of praise, with fully struck illustrations that soar above the surrounding fields, surfaces that are drenched in a silk finish, and few marks noted for the grade. Very much a jewel, and a coin that sets itself apart from the pack.
