London mint. A pair of trial coins in nickel of the 5 and 10 Centavos 1965 (regular issues were struck in copper-nickel), as follows:
- 5 Centavos, KM-TS-9 (cf. KM24.2), MS66 NGC. Essentially flawless as suggested by the incredible assigned numerical grade, with full mint luster and highly reflective fields. "Trial" is stamped on the obverse, to the right (following heraldic convention) of Cordoba's bust.
- 10 Centavos, KM-TS-10 (cf. KM17.2), MS68 NGC. Gem Mint State with the slightest surface marks, yet similarly impressive reflective fields. "Trial" is stamped on the obverse, to the right of Cordoba's bust.
Two exciting modern rarities, very rare and the only ones seen by the cataloger.
Ex. Richard Stuart Collection
