Ferdinand VII "Large Bust" 8 Reales 1808 LM-JP UNC Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, Lima mint, KM106.1, Cal-472. The rare first date for this short-lived "Large Bust" type, with surfaces that despite the "Surface Hairlines" notation from NGC remain remarkably attractive, with impeccably defined centers, bright luster and no real marks to speak of. A coin that truly rivals the NGC-graded MS64 from the Millennia Collection in terms of eye-appeal and if not for the slightest wipe that only becomes visible upon intense inspection, a coin that would almost certainly rival its price; the Millennia Collection coin, on the market once since its initial offering, most recently hammered for $12,000 in May of 2009.
