Michael Korybut (1669-1673) silver Medal ND (c. 1670) UNC, by Johann Höhn, 64mm, HCz-2389 (R7). A beautifully preserved piece commemorating the treaty between Michael and Leopold I against the Ottomans and French. This specimen is superbly struck with wholly original surfaces and a dramatic reverse scene featuring the Polish and Holy Roman eagles over the globe with a French Sun and Ottoman Crescent to either side. Michael I struggled greatly (and generally fared poorly) in his short reign against both the Ottomans and the pro-French factions in his own nobility. The reverse here translates to: "Sacred Eagles bonded under the auspices of Heaven."
