Catherine II " Liberal Economic Society" silver Medal ND (c.1768) SP62 PCGS, copy by A. Klepikov and J.B. Gass, Diakov-142.3 (R2), Smirnov-253/a, 64mm. PCGS has listed this medal as Diakov-142.2 on the holder, but it is Diakov-142.3. A copy, by A. Klepikov and J.B. Gass, of the Liberal Economic Society Award Medal, "Recompense For Labour." Obv. Crowned and mantled half-length portrait of Catherine II right. Rev. Ceres, the Goddess of Harvest, under a palm tree holding caduceus and wreath. Superbly struck, with light golden toning. The surfaces display only minor marks and the fields are nicely reflective. Much nicer than one might expect of a piece certified as Specimen 62.
