James I (1406-1437) gold Demy ND AU58 NGC, Type III, S-5192, Burns-21 (listed under Type II despite the pellets in the quatrefoils). Crown mm, lion rampant within lozenge, legend with double-annulet stops / St. Andrew's cross flanked by lis in a fleured tressure of six arcs with large, pelleted quatrefoils in spandrels; lis and double-annulet stops. An attractive example, evenly struck with some residual luster.
