Solothurn. Canton gold 16 Franken 1813 MS62 PCGS, KM75, HMZ 2-853a, Fr-395. Mintage: 150. An incredible rarity from the canton of Solothurn, featuring the emblematic Swiss knight on the obverse in full armor, holding a spear and shield. All of the design elements have a crispness about them, with the reverse motif appearing nearly three-dimensional, and overall, the prooflike surfaces entertain the eye, with much original luster brightening the fields. A review of recent auction records confirms that this one-year issue is rarely offered, and according to the census reports, there are only three certified example of this type in total, making this an excellent opportunity for the collector of scarce cantonal material.
